“FALL” Into Healthy Habits

Summer slipped away right before our eyes. Kids are back to school, morning traffic is slightly chaotic, crisp mornings have returned, and pumpkin spice is everywhere you turn. What a time! I always look at this time of year as a new beginning. What are the things to prioritize? What can I let go? How can I be a better version of myself? You may feel motivated, overwhelmed, and anticipation as you answer these questions. Embrace those feelings! It’s ammunition to catapult you forward. Prioritizing yourself is an empowering form of self-care. As you put yourself on the top of your to-do list and reset from all those fun summer nights, you may be interested in cleaning up your nutrition and re-creating your lifestyle. Here are a few of my tips to “fall” into healthier habits at this time of the year.

Healthy Habit #1: Prioritize Preparation

Make a daily “get to-do list,” plan your meals, meal prep, and set parts of your morning routine up the night before.

Healthy Habit #2: Movement Medicine

Choose 1-2 forms of exercise that excites you and keeps you coming back for more each day. Alternate between both forms of exercise every couple of days.

Healthy Habit #3: Buy Seasonal Produce

Consuming seasonal produce is a great way to expand variety in your diet and consume different vitamins/minerals needed for our body systems.

Healthy Habit #4: Hydrate Properly

Start your morning with warm water, a squeeze of lemon, and a pinch of pink salt. Adding these minerals and electrolytes will help your body properly absorb the water you’re drinking.

Healthy Habit #5: Consistent Sleep Time

Prioritize getting to bed each night at the same time, stop scrolling on your phone, minimize blue light, and unwind properly.
