Our Mochi Making Experience!

What a fun date night! Anthony and I participated in an Air BNB virtual experience that taught us how to make Mochi from scratch! Our instructor, Yukiko, was knowledgeable, entertaining, and extremely helpful, even through zoom!

Mochi is a Japanese dessert made of rice flour with a sweet red bean paste and fruit filling. In Japan, families celebrate special events and holidays with Mochi instead of cake. There are many ways to fill your Mochi; you can use Nutella, nut butter, chocolate candies, etc. Yukiko will walk you through all of it! This tasty dessert passes the gluten-free test too!

When you book an experience, you’re emailed a list of ingredients to have on hand and a copy of each recipe you’ll make. If you’re unsure where to find ingredients, don’t worry, Yukiko attaches links to where you can buy certain items!

We made Mochi, Mochi Ice Cream, and Mochi Donuts. Yup! You can make many different baked goods with this rice flour base. Anthony and I want to try pancakes next!

Your kitchen will be a mess. But it is worth it! Don’t miss out on this experience. Immerse yourself in a different culture and get your loved ones involved!

You can find the experience here! Have fun!
