Differences between a NTP, Dietitian, and Health Coach

Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)

An NTP is trained by the Nutritional Therapy Association. They learn how to evaluate a client’s deficiencies and dysfunctions in the body to reach the root cause of their health challenges. They address diet, function of the digestive system, blood sugar regulation system, fatty acid status, mineral balance, and hydration levels. NTPs also incorporate analysis of lifestyle habits, including sleep, stress, movement, and environmental considerations that provide holistic recommendations that help bring the body back into balance. An NTP cannot make any medical diagnoses.

Dietitian

A Dietitian is a highly qualified nutrition professional but often takes a weight-based approach to healing. They do not always take a holistic approach and usually only treat symptoms rather than the actual problem. They can make medical diagnoses and treat the condition.
